Transition to 25-26!

The time to start preparing for the 2025-2026 school year is now! Plain Local Schools is excited to host several informational sessions designed to help students and their families navigate the academic planning process. Check out the upcoming events and mark your calendars to ensure you have all the information you need for a successful school year.

GlenOak Academic Planning Night

Date: February 13, 2025
Who: Students entering grades 10-12 and their families
What: Explore the scheduling process, important timelines, and programs like College Credit Plus (CCP), Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), Career Tech, as well as graduation requirements, athletic eligibility, and the recruitment process.
Time: 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
Location: Park in the upper parking lot and enter through Door 17. Teachers and administrators will be available to guide you through the sessions.

Special Session for Seniors:
When: February 13, 2025, 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM
What: FAFSA Help Session for college-bound seniors and their families. Counselors will assist with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Click here to sign up.  
Location: Enter through Door 17. Stop by anytime during the session.

Freshman Information Night

Date: March 13, 2025
Who: Current 8th graders and their families
What: Learn about classes, programs, and activities available to GlenOak students. The evening begins with a brief introduction in the theater, followed by the opportunity to explore the building, meet teachers, learn about teams and clubs at GlenOak, take a tour of the athletic facilities, and get any questions about the scheduling process answered.

Time:

  • 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM: Students with last names A–L and new enrollees

  • 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM: Students with last names M–Z

  • Location: GlenOak High School

Oakwood Information Night

Date: March 4, 2025
Who: Current 6th graders and their families
What: An informational evening featuring a short presentation on the scheduling process and opportunities for students, followed by a self-guided tour to meet teachers, counselors, coaches, and activity sponsors.
Time:

  • 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM: Students with last names A–L

  • 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM: Students with last names M–Z
    Location: Oakwood Middle School, 2300 Schneider St. NE, Canton, Ohio 44721
    Parking is available in the staff parking lot; enter through the main entrance. Volunteers will be on-site to assist.

Glenwood Information Night

Dates: March 17 & 18, 2025
Who: Current 4th graders and their families
What: Learn about the scheduling process, meet teachers, tour the building, and discover activities and offerings from current students.
Time: 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM

  • March 17, 2025: Barr, Middlebranch, and Warstler students

  • March 18, 2025: Avondale, Frazer, and Taft students

  • Location: Glenwood Intermediate School, 1015 44th Street NW, Canton, Ohio 44709
    Parking is available in the staff parking lot; enter through the main entrance. Volunteers will be on-site to assist.
